Children Come to Their Parents

Aleksandra Nikitina

Latsõq, latsõq tulõvaq,
vanõbillõ vasta.
Veli, sõsar, sõbõr,
suud andvaq magusast.
Kuivaq ossaq ollivaq,
nõrgaq latsõ kihäq.
Jõvva-i tullaq
uma maama mano,
siski, rühkih, roomatõh.
Tsirgukõsõq, linnukõsõq,
lindäse ümbre Voona mäe.
Valgil, verevil,
nii minu peigmiis,
kui ta hingli taivah.

Religious verses often consist of fragments. This text combines highly different motifs, with adjacent images of Paradise where relatives hold and kiss each other and the depiction of the Heavenly Groom and children crawling to their mother.
