Svetoslava Toncheva

Svetoslava Toncheva is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Her research explores various aspects of the field of religiosity, in particular the new spirituality and Western Buddhism. Her past work has examined the national and transnational specifics of the new religious movements, while she is currently focused on the link between spirituality and ecology and the ways in which spiritual philosophies and communities address nature conservation and environmental behavior. She is the author of the book Out of the New Spirituality of the Twentieth Century: The Dawn of Anthroposophy, the White Brotherhood and the Unified Teaching (Frank&Timme Verlag, 2015).
