Assoc. prof. Alexander Novik, PhD, Head of the Department of European Studies of The Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunskamera) and Head of the Department of European Studies at the Saint Petersburg State University, Russia. He’s honorary consul of the Republic of Albania in Saint Petersburg. He’s a member of  Association of anthropologists and Ethnologists of Russia,  CORPUS International group for the Cultural Studies of the Body, School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences – EHES Paris, the Autonomous University of Madrid), and expert of the Russian Academy of Sciences.  His research interests include cultural and social anthropology, ethnology of Europe, traditional culture of the Balkan Peninsula peoples, traditional culture of Eurasia, contact zones of Eurasia, ethnolinguistics, ethopsychology, ethnoetiquette, mythology, folk medicine and healership, history of costumes, traditional crafts, arts and crafts.
