Irina Stahl
Irina Stahl, PhD, researcher at the Institute of Sociology, Romanian Academy, Bucharest, Romania. She is a member the Religion and Society research laboratory. Since 2014, she has served as the Secretary of The Ritual Year WG (SIEF) and the editor of the group’s biannual newsletter. She was the Guest Editor of the journal ‘Revista Română de Sociologie’ (Romanian Journal of Sociology), no.1-2/2016 theme issue, in English, dedicated to the Transformation of Traditional Rituals. In her research she employs qualitative and quantitative methodologies in an interdisciplinary approach investigating a wide array of topics. Her main field of research includes religious phenomena in contemporary Romania, with focus on the urban environment - veneration of saints in the Orthodox Church.
