How to get to Tallinn

By air: Tallinn airport is served by Estonian Air, Air Baltic, CSA Czech Airlines, Finnair, Lufthansa, SAS, EasyJet, Norwegian etc.
Another option is to arrive via Riga airport, which is served by Aeroflot, Air Baltic, Czech Airlines, Finnair, Bulgaria Air LOT; Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, EasyJet, Ryanair, NorwegianAir.

By land: There is bus service between Riga and Tallinn (Eurolines, Ecolines) and St. Petersburg and Tallinn (Eurolines).

The Eurolines bus departs from Riga Airport to Tallinn 9 times a day and the Ecolines bus at 8:00, 12:00 and 19:00. Travel from Riga to Tallinn takes about 5-6 hours.

By sea: Helsinki–Tallinn line is served by Eckeröline, Viking Line, Tallink. A trip from Helsinki to Tallinn takes approximately 1,5 hours (about 3 hours by slower ferries).


From Tallinn to Saaremaa: There is regular buss connection to between Tallinn and Saaremaa. A trip takes approximately 3,5 hours.

Money: EURO

You can pay with VISA, VISA ELECTRON, MASTERCARD and MAESTRO in almost all shops, cafes and restaurants (though not at the bus station or in the buses!).
ITIC and ISIC cards will give reductions in buses(if you are under 26), as well as several bookshops and shops, and some cafes(notice the sign on the door!).
