June 26. - July 15.Mare Kõiva, Andres Kuperjanov.
Interviews and observations on the topics: presentation of locality and history, archeoastronomy, abbeys as nodes of traditions. The Belogradchik observatory and conservation area. Topics investigated: presentation of regionality. The observatory, established in 1961, is not just a scientific centre where hobby astronomers meet and conduct observations. Melnik, established in the 5th century, with its abundant churches and chapels has various means of exhibiting its history. The Rozhen abbey complex of 13th century with frescoes from the 16th century is also noteworthy. One of the central areas of investigation was once again the Rila abbey, the Rila Ivan chapel, funeral site and the surroundings as an important national religious centre. In 2010, the older part of the abbey was being renovated and a visitor centre was being built nearby.
